CELEBRATING 10 YEARS ON THE ROAD

10th Celebratory run and gathering and 2027 calendar launch

Sunday 20 September

Meet at Darra Headquarters at 11am for 11.30am departure for 50 minute round trip of Mount Cootha. Return to Darra Headquarters for BYO Picnic gathering.

BYO Picnic and drinks. I can provide tea and coffee, bbq, stove top, music etc. I have tables and quite a few chairs but byo chair if you like. Feel free to decorate your cars, even just with pink and purple streamers and any creative signage. Hopefully we will remain in convoy and make quite the spectacle.

A special edition of the calendar to celebrate our group running for 10 years will be available. It will include photos of all 72 of the past Calendar Girls and their amazing cars. Calendars will be available at a slightly higher cost of $30 due to additional pages.

If a map/route has been provided, print out if possible.

Let me know if you want to try to organise another meet point via email or on the event registration form.

If you have registered interest to come on the run, as soon as you know you won’t be coming, please advise via email. Please don’t leave it until the day of the run.

Old Girls on The Road is not a club. If you have special interest registration be sure to follow your car club’s rules for ‘impromptu’ runs .

Friends, male or female, are absolutely welcome.

On the day of the run

Before you leave to come on the run, check the Events page on the Old Girls on The Road website for any last-minute updates.

Please bring some gold coins for gold coin donation. This assists me with overheads.

As far as possible aim to arrive at Darra the time stated in the event information. (I understand this will be give and take for those traveling from Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast or outside of Brisbane.)

On the day of the run, if your plans change or you have an inquiry, please text my mobile and include your name if you are not sure if you are in my phone contacts. PLEASE DO NOT use Facebook or Messenger or email.

Newbies please note:

ALL are welcome on our Girly Runs and at our events HOWEVER:

  • This group acknowledges a classic car as being manufactured before 1985, the early ‘80’s being when chrome bumpers began to be replaced by plastics etc. In particular in Australia the 1984 Holden WB series (Kingswood Ute and Panelvan) were the last Holdens with traditional chrome bumpers.

  • Cars taking part in the Girly Runs must be registered to a female and driven by a female (of any age).

  • Males are most welcome on the runs as a passenger.

  • Male drivers may be invited and approved to take part in ’Special Event’ runs as advised by Newsletter.

  • Old Girls on The Road is not a club. Please ensure all necessary measures are taken to insure you have insurance in place. If you have Club Rego and are unsure about this please contact your club.

  • When participating in Old Girls on The Road events and runs please abide by all road rules and sensible behaviour.

  • Please consult tracey@oldgirlsontheroad.com if it is your intention to share images or videos anywhere other than your own personal social media pages or any Old Girls on The Road social media pages. Please always consult anyone you are taking images of.
